Liverpool-based, alternative-groove rockers Attic Theory, release new song ‘Narrow Lines’ on 28 October 2022, with both pre-order and pre-save links active now.
Opening with a punchy-yet-melodic guitar riff that evolves into a hard-hitting, rhythmic guitar line that infuses percussive elements, this song makes a quick impression on the listener. The vocals then add extra depth and are deliver a truly special performance, adding just enough grit to give the song an intense edge, whilst also remaining vocally melodic, thus ensuring that the song can be appreciated by a universal audience – this musical accessibility is particularly refreshing as Attic Theory avoid the trap of overly guttural vocals that could polarise listeners and, instead, focus on a captivating performance that has both soul and melody at its core.
Whilst listeners may mainly hone in on the vocals, its is worth appreciating the contributions from both the bass and drums which hold down the lower end of the sonic spectrum and provide a solid foundation for the band to build on. In the case of ‘Narrow Lines‘ the drums have a big sound and remain tightly locked into the groove. The bass is more subtle as it works alongside the guitars, though anchors the deeper frequencies and adds further depth to the mix. The overall mix and production quality of the song are made even more impressive when considering that there are six members of Attic Theory; it is evident that the band, and the recording team that they work with, know how to balance each member’s sonic contribution to create a crisp mix and thus avoiding the risk of a muddy sound – we can clearly hear a fantastic mix that really elevates the song.

Attic Theory will donate 100% of the proceeds received from downloads of ‘Narrow Lines’ on Attic Theory’s webpage to the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM – a charity uniting the UK against suicide, the leading cause of death among men under the age of 45 in the UK, charity number 1110621). Frontman Lewis Wright said: “Our aim with the ‘Narrow Lines’ song and video is to raise more awareness for all those going through difficult times in their lives. The lyrics talk about how you can feel like you’re trapped in a never-ending loop when going through troubling issues and hopefully the song will encourage the listener to reach out to CALM, who offer help, support and information to anyone who is struggling or in crisis. We are asking people to download the single from our webpage and unite against suicide. We know that the donations will not only help to change lives, it will also help save lives.”
