“Only With Time” by Adria Kain

Hailing from Toronto, Adria Kain has recently released her debut album – “When Flowers Bloom” – and stunningly paves the way with lead track “Only With Time” that features a live studio performance with Colors.

Focusing on the song and its accompanying video, we love the simplicity of the visuals: the calming blue background and solo performance by Adria allows the listener/viewer to really appreciate those incredible vocals that are characterful, soulful, and tremendously rich. Reading through the YouTube comments, it’s evident that many others are as equally captivated as ourselves, with a vast number of people praising Adria’s impressive vocal talents; it’s refreshing to see so much positivity and love being shared in support of an artist – especially with so many people highlighting that this is the song/video that made them aware of Adria Kain in the first place and, as such, have now discovered a new artist.

Bringing it back to the music, the production is superb and really highlights Adria’s voice by letting it bask in the spotlight in the mix to be really prominent and act, very much, as the glue that holds the song together. With this we then have the minimal beat adding some depth to the song, and a wonderfully crisp guitar adding another layer of feeling to the song; in many ways the song seems to draw inspiration from traditional blues and soul music, whilst seamlessly combining a modern feel, essentially resulting in a song that sounds timeless becoming, quite potentially, a modern classic that will inevitably make big waves for Adria and her musical trajectory.

Quite clearly we’re now huge fans of Adria’s music and we’re fortunate to be able to share a quote directly from Adria, which offers further insight into the music:
“When Flowers Bloom tells the story of falling in love after overcoming the loss of oneself through previous experiences in love. It depicts the struggle of a young, masculine presenting woman, who after embarking on a journey of self discovery, attempts to heal her wounds that developed through romantic relationships and the false perceptions that were taught throughout her upbringing. Accountability & vulnerability are the key emotions in this story” – Adria Kain.
