The grandiose piano opening makes an impressive statement – whilst simultaneously grabbing the listener’s attention immediately – and sets the foundations on which the following instruments add their colours. The pivotal role of the stringed instrumentals is that of delivering the sweet melodic lines emotionally; the cello and violin achieve this superbly. These sections are then accompanied by the stunning, yet sorrowful, vocals that are filled with raw emotion. All of this combined results in an wonderfully bold composition that carries vast amounts of emotion within the four minutes at forty-one seconds that it lasts for.
