We have been fans of Pecq for quite a while and proudly admit that songs “Too Far Gone” and “Over and Over” are still firm favourites of ours, though confess that “Left Behind” is hot on their heels – especially with the dramatic, emotional-release that comes from the middle-eight and, of course, the stunning music video that accompanies this song.

Pecq’s signature synth-pop sound immediately greets the listener as the song and video begin. Hannah’s ethereal vocals gracefully soar over the instrumentation and deliver a superb performance with reverb-treated vocals that manage to retain clarity and character which then further add to the lyrics and music. This is a particular achievement for us, as vocals and lyrics can sometimes become muddy when treated with too much reverb: Pecq always know the perfect amount of reverb to use and ensure that the lyrics and vocal performance are at optimum levels – which is just one of the reasons that the duo’s music always sounds so well-refined, though characterful.

To our regret, we were first sent this song back in March 2023 and we should have featured this song and video much sooner. We do believe that good music doesn’t age and we still love this song (and hope you do too) but recommend that you listen to this song as well as check out Pecq’s more recent releases in order to update yourself on their full discography.
