Midlands band La Vivas deliver a swagger-fuelled modern rock song that captures a fuzz-rock sound packed with energy. Pounding drums give the song a kick and up the tempo whilst the thundering bass pins down the low-end, making for a cavernous sound that has worked well for blue-rock titans such as Led Zeppelin and Rival Sons. Over the top of this comes the raw, angsty vocals that add a sense of immediacy to the song and demand the listeners attention as you follow the song attentively to find out what comes next as it stomps towards a brilliant middle-eight with a melodic, yet scuzzy, guitar solo that serves the song well. This full-on sound then continues until the song reaches its conclusion, all whilst retaining your attention from the very first note right up to the very last.
A very strong song that combines classic rock influences with a modern sound to achieve a sweet-spot between the two, giving music fans a song that has some old-school familiarity to it whilst simultaneously being undeniably new and fresh for listeners to enjoy.
Recorded at Wolverhampton’s RML Studio and produced by Ryan Pinson (The Assist, Alex Ohm), ‘The Bell And The Butterfly’ ushers in a new era for the trio. Wearing their rock credentials fully on their sleeves, La Vivas present a song that is brash, immediate and best played as loud as possible. The energetic pace and catchy riff found in ‘The Bell And The Butterfly’ is matched by frontman Kevin Donaldson’s powerful vocal to produce a non-stop, mind blowing, aural assault.
The artwork for the track is a unique piece from the former Premier League footballer turned artist Jody Craddock.
