“Wear Me Down” by Gracyn

Singer-songwriter Gracyn has a depth and wisdom to her writing that immediately marks her as an artist with vast potential: this debut single demonstrates Gracyn’s musical maturity and heartfelt honesty in the lyrics and sweet-thought-powerful vocals deliver an emotion-filled performance.

Spending her childhood in Zambia, Africa; her adolescence in Columbia, South Carolina; and now residing in Los Angeles; some of Gracyn’s musical maturity may be explained by her experiences of different cultures and of living across at least two continents. This may manifest itself through the deep lyrics that seem to bear her very soul to the listener: my own experience of this song was particularly emotive as I write this on a cold, grey January evening, and notable lines such as “I know that I’ve been pushing you away. But you’re not like the rest and that scares me to death” carry significant weight.

Fans of Melanie Maclaren, ÄNN, and Morgan Robertson are likely to fall in love with this song and should have their interest in Gracyn’s wider discography piqued.
