“I’m obsessed with the guitar line – I just think it’s great!” – Gemma Bradley (BBC Radio 1)
“Real art-rock sensibility to the track, as the vocal melody and complex arrangement don’t follow the standard approach of rock or pop, outside the warm tones of the bass line”
– AnalogueTrash
“These guys paving the way for a new era of British dreamy indie-pop” – Indietronica
Art-rock/Modern-shoegaze band, Cat Ryan, are one of the most promising artists from Newcastle upon Tyne currently, as they continually mesmerise audiences through their exciting blend of genres that hints at new music territory.
The refreshingly-alternative sound of Cat Ryan has quickly won the band many fans, particularly within the music taste-making community as shown by the band’s popularity with Hype Machine-indexed outlets such as When The Horn Blows, csgmblog, AnalogueTrash, Little Indie Blogs, The Burning Ear, Phonograph Me, Loud Women and many more. Alongside popular support, Cat Ryan had the honour of Vinyl Moon selecting their song ‘Mannerism’ for inclusion on their global vinyl compilation (Vol 63 – Nov 2020), allowing Cat Ryan to be discovered by a global community of vinyl fans. Ultimately, the distinct discography of the band demonstrates the self-conscious nature of their songwriting whilst hinting at future sonic explorations of the art-rock and art-gaze styles.
