It is our pleasure to write about a new song that has completely won us over: the debut single from Tottenham-based artist Common Goldfish titled “Feel the Fuzz”.
Opening with a groovy bassline this song instantly radiates character and will have you hooked. The powerful, though warm, bass tone creates a solid foundation over which the stone Roses’-esque lead guitar adds delightful embellishments. With the vocals quickly joining the mix, the song wastes no time in delivering a majestic track and, in our opinion, does so in a way that explores musical creativity and imagination without becoming too artsy; the song benefits from a certain looseness and flexibility, though avoids the temptation to become messy, instead it remains calmly focussed on delivering a refreshing sound. A sure sign of the strength of this song comes from the ability to lose track of the time; before you know it you’ve reached the end of the song and are listening to it again, crucially without becoming disinterested, which makes this a perfect gem for repeat listens.
Speaking about the song, Common Goldfish states: “The track embodies the sense of dreamer’s optimism (“the fuzz”) and the feeling that led me to change career paths and pursue my passion in music. We only lead one life, Feel the Fuzz is about helping people see that they should value their experiences over materials and not always seek the easy options in life.”
